The steps between the secluded area by the top pond and the four square garden had suffered bad frost damage to the bricks and therefore we have resurfaced them using timber facing with compacted duff. This is the 4mm down to dust aggregate that we use for the top layer of all the paths around Ty Canol Gardens.
Set in the Carmarthenshire countryside 4 miles north of the centre of Carmarthen at an altitude of 600 feet. Some exposure to the westerly winds blowing from the Preseli mountains but the tree planting in 1991 manage to create a peaceful and still haven in the lower parts of the garden.
